Purpose
The faculty of the college expects each student to participate in scheduled classes on a routine basis and to be punctual. Registration in a course presupposes that students will participate in scheduled classes and laboratory sessions. Specific attendance requirements are outlined on class syllabi.
Policy
Class attendance is expected of all students at 51°µÍø. Multiple absences may drop a student below the 85% attendance required to receive a grade of Satisfactory (S).
The student may be dropped, and they may incur a financial penalty and/or will be ineligible to use the same funding for repeated attempts of the same courses or other non-credit courses if:
- The student does not attend orientation, and/or has not logged into all course resources and started assignments by the beginning of week 3.
- The student stops attending and participating in course requirements for two weeks or more, and/or is unresponsive to their success team.
- The student is unsuccessful in passing the course.
79.1 Students enrolled in corporate and professional training are required to complete all activities and labs before sitting for a credential exam. Multiple absences may drop a student below the 85% required to receive a grade of Satisfactory (S).
