Accessible Equations Everywhere: Word, PowerPoint, Google Docs, Canvas, and More

Math equations are one of the most common accessibility barriers in higher education, and the problem shows up everywhere, not just in Canvas. When equations are saved as images, screen readers announce filenames instead of math, leaving students unable to engage with the content. In this one-hour webinar, we will cover how to create accessible equations using the built-in equation editors already available in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Google Docs, Google Slides, and Canvas. We will also explore how AI tools like Gemini and Copilot can help convert existing image-based equations quickly. No prior accessibility experience required.
