Because of this, it is important to be sure that your Preferred Phone Type in SIS is the Business Phone Type.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To change your preferred phone type, you must be <a href=\"https:\/\/www.virginiawestern.edu\/iet-services\/myvwcc-help\/logging-in-to-myvwcc\/\">logged into MyVWCC<\/a> and inside the Student Information System.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In the <strong>Student Center<\/strong>, under <strong>Personal Information <\/strong>click the <strong>Main Phone<\/strong> link.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>On the Phone Numbers page, make sure the <strong>Preferred<\/strong> checkbox is checked for the <strong>Business<\/strong> phone type, then click <strong>Save<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Students that are assigned to a faculty advisor in SIS are able to see their advisor&#8217;s name, preferred phone number, and email via the Student Center.
